@Matt Well maybe I stand corrected -- you'd probably know best. Can you confirm that not using a numerical value first could potentially slow your site down? I see that you're using the date first on your blog which makes sense on a blog (of course it's WP is meant for). However, if you want to use WP more as a CMS, having dates in your URL may not be ideal, so would you just suggest using the postname and maybe category?

I would strongly disagree with #2.

Create permalinks for permanence, which means no application-specific IDs or similar ephemeral cruft in the address.

WordPress Database Backup plugin works just fine if I do it manually but for some reason I can’t get it to deliver the scheduled backups to my gmail addy. I also thought that was a good idea:) unfortunately it doesn’t work for me. don’t know why, but I’m having problems upgrading wordpress suddenly so it’s probably all related.

@kyle steed Yep, and still do. It’s a toss up whether “Head Space” or “All in one SEO” is better. There’s a couple minor differences that make Head Space the winner here. In the end, using either one accomplishes the same goal.
