I would agree about the rise of the pro/premium/core plugins. Just recently one of my favourite plugins (WPTouch) released their pro version. I haven't made the jump yet, not least because the free version is already so well supported, but the guys over at www.bravenewcode.com did a fantastic job and I might have to fork out for the full version.

Hi,
I agree with Thomas Clausen's suggestions that use full width page template is more easy than bbPress integrated with WordPress. Use of bbPress is really head ache!

There are many plug-ins which require licenses now to run, some require licenses to remove the "ad or link back to publisher". I think if a plug-in can prove its value, it may be worth paying for. I haven't even touched Wordpress MU, don't know much about it vs regular Wordpress, it is for having multiple wordpress blogs running on same installation right? If so, I hope it supports child themes.

To be honest I'm quite scared of plugins requiring a license to be used for a website. So many plugins are loaded with ads and some are even bold enough to insert themselves into your pages.

PS Added you to my blog friends section on the new site. Are you coming up to Chicago anytime soon?

If you wanted to use bbPress integrated with WordPress you got a headache.

This is so true. Why not just use a full width page template, it would be so more easy.
